| Doctors In Concert - Now a Concert Series LITTLE ROCK/CONWAY, ARKANSAS: Steinway & Sons and their dealer for Arkansas, Colaianni Piano of Little Rock, co-sponsored the area's first “Doctors In Concert” on Friday, September 22nd, 2006. Steinway-designed pianos were used during the evening’s festivities which featured the musical talents of area physicians (pictured at right) and benefited The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) was founded in 1998 by twin sisters Karen Andrews and Kathy Giusti following Kathy's diagnosis with multiple myeloma. Today, the MMRF is the world's number one private funder of myeloma specific research. Multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cell, is an incurable but treatable disease. Through continued research, several promising new therapies are helping patients live longer, healthier lives. The estimated frequency of multiple myeloma is 5-6 new cases per 100,000 persons per year. Accordingly, in the USA 15,980 new cases are expected to be diagnosed in 2005.
